Description

Quaestor Advisors, an affiliated servicing company for Arena Investors, is looking to expand the Operations Team through the addition of a Trading Operations Associate to focus on a variety of trade support and position management responsibilities. In this role, this individual will be exposed to each step in the life cycle of tradeable securities across global markets. The individual will also work closely with all departments of the firm, including c-suite executives. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, resourceful, and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in initial investment discussions and ensure the firm’s internal pipeline system is updated accordingly
  • Compile and enhance daily reporting for asset performance and trading profit and loss
  • Perform daily cash and position reconciliation functions for liquid assets
  • Review and respond to PB/ISDA Counterparty margin calls each day
  • Coordinate with the firm’s global custodians, dealers, and prime brokers to resolve commission differences, trade discrepancies and fails
  • Onboard new sales and trading coverage for the firm’s corporate securities team
  • Set up new accounts and entities with the firm’s fund administrator
  • Work closely with the firm’s Operations team to monitor cash inflows and outflows from existing investments
  • Update treasury models for management review
  • Support secondary market bank debt trading, closing, and settlement
  • Maintain up to date legal and ownership documentation for the firm
  • Assist with internal data integrity analysis
  • Complete ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements

The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting)
  • 2-5 years of direct experience at a securities or investment firm
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) skills
  • Experience with credit default swaps, swaptions and other financial derivatives a plus
  • Experience with risk, settlements, or trading assistant functions
  • Experience interacting with Prime Brokers, Custodians, and OTC Counterparties a plus
  • Experience working with large data sets; an understanding of data hierarchy
  • The highest level of personal integrity and ethical standards

  • Ability to communicate at a high level
  • Strong attention to detail
