Graphic Designer/ Digital operator – A rare opportunity to join our team at Brackens Print & Signs

At Brackens Print & Signs, we’re dedicated to delivering design, print, and signage solutions that help our clients stand out. We’re a small team based in the beautiful town of Oamaru.
We were established way back in 1946 by Thos Brackens, the grandson of the creator of our National Anthem, God Defend New Zealand. The business has evolved over the years from traditional offset & letterpress printers, to include digital printing, wide format and signage.
About the role
We’re on the lookout for a Graphic Designer/Digital operator who can bring fresh ideas, high standards and great energy to our creative team. This is a diverse position where you’ll be involved in the entire process — from meeting customers, interpreting a brief to producing the finished product for print, signage, and promotional items.
The role also includes the running of digital printers, large format printer and general finishing of jobs.
If you love developing clever, original design solutions and enjoy seeing your work move from concept to completion, you’ll fit right in.
We’re looking for someone who:
Is passionate about design and proactive in their approach
Has a sharp eye for detail and plenty of creative ideas
Isn’t afraid to jump in and take initiative
Communicates well and enjoys collaborating
Can stay organised while managing multiple projects
What you’ll need to bring:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
A solid understanding of the print production process
A relevant design qualification
Experience in the print industry
Excellent verbal and written communication
Great time management and attention to detail
The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
A team player attitude with great people skills
A portfolio that shows off your creative side and eye for quality design
