Vitel Cabling is a leading Fibre Optic, Computer and Phone cabling provider in the Northland Region. Due to our team delivering high-quality, world-class services over the past two decades, we are growing with our local market and have the opportunity for an Experienced Telecommunication/Data-Cabling Technician to join our highly enthusiastic team.

The ideal candidate should have the following:
Have good knowledge of Structured Data Cabling installations, preferably both Copper and Fibre optic, with an understanding of relevant industry standards and practices
Ideally, you will have 2-3 years of experience and the ability to read and understand technical documents, specifications, schedules and drawings.
Have installed one or more of the following manufacturers cabling systems:
Krone / TE Connectivity / AMP / CommScope / Schneider-Actassi / Hubbell / MMC / Oplinx / AFL / Legrande
Using Fluke DSX network tester and Fusion Splicers would be an advantage
Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks whether working alone or in a team environment
A great work ethic with a “let’s get the job done” attitude.
Maintain accurate records of job work hours and provide other administrative functions such as job notes.
Plan and coordinate on-site resources and materials, including installation and testing.
Be methodical and accurate in your work.
Happy to follow health and safety procedures.
Be fit and healthy to meet the job’s physical demands.
