Senior Digital Performance Manager (12-Month Contract)

Tracta, New Zealand’s leading agribusiness marketing agency, based in Hawke's Bay, is seeking a high-calibre Senior Digital Performance Manager for a 12-month parental leave cover role. This is a rare opportunity to own the performance and measurement architecture of a forward-thinking agency, managing market-leading digital strategies that resonate with audiences worldwide.
As our Senior Digital Performance Manager, you'll be at the intersection of marketing, data, and UX. You’ll be responsible for developing and executing sophisticated performance campaigns and conversion strategies that drive tangible brand growth. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with senior partners to ensure every click counts and every journey is optimised for excellence.
What you'll be doing
Media buying & execution: Set up and manage high-performing campaigns across Paid Social (Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube), Programmatic (DV360), and Search/Shopping (Google Ads, PMAX).
Measurement architecture: Own the end-to-end tagging strategy. You’ll implement and audit tracking via GTM, ensuring GA4 event tracking and conversion frameworks are flawless and data is accurate.
Performance optimisation: Continuously optimise campaigns to exceed KPIs like CPA and ROAS, refining audiences, bidding strategies, and creative rotations.
Drive CRO strategy: Analyse user behaviour to identify friction points. You’ll design hypotheses and partner with our design and dev teams to launch A/B tests that improve funnel efficiency.
Insights & analytics: Build actionable dashboards in Looker Studio and translate complex data into clear, strategic stories for our clients and internal stakeholders.
Test & learn: Lead structured frameworks to constantly push the boundaries of what our digital media and landing experiences can achieve.
What we're looking for
3–7+ years in digital performance marketing, analytics, or CRO roles, ideally within an agency or growth-focused environment.
Hands-on, advanced experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM) and GA4 implementation is essential.
Deep knowledge of Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube Ads, DV360, and Google Ads.
Proven ability to link media performance with on-site conversion outcomes and a passion for testing and optimisation.
The ability to explain complex data and tracking concepts simply to those who aren't as tech-savvy.
An understanding of the unique marketing challenges and opportunities within the agribusiness sector.
NZ citizenship or permanent residency and a willingness to reside in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay for the duration of the contract.
