JDA is a broadcast and telecommunications transmission site owner/operator and digital terrestrial television network owner/operator. JDA also manages 3rd party site infrastructure including the Auckland SkyTower.
Transworks is a core, switching, routing, optical and industrial electrical system integrator who has spent the last 30 years building a highly skilled team of engineers and electricians and are deeply involved in the rollout of the latest IT and telecommunications infrastructure including new generation data centres.

About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Head of Technology to lead the technological direction of TANS. This is a pivotal executive role responsible for shaping our long‑term technology strategy, strengthening our innovation capability, and ensuring our solutions remain resilient and industry‑leading across Aotearoa and the Pacific.
As Head of Technology, you will oversee engineering, product development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technology initiatives across Broadtech and JDA. You will work closely with the CEO, Board, and senior leaders to drive growth, modernisation, and operational excellence while championing a culture of innovation grounded in Māori values and future‑focused thinking.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Define and execute the group-wide technology strategy aligned with organisational goals.
Lead innovation across broadcast, telecommunications, media, and health technology.
Identify emerging technologies and assess their impact on future services and markets.
Advise the Board and executive team on technology investment, risk, and opportunity.
Technology & Engineering Oversight
Oversee the design, delivery, and performance of nationwide transmission and communications systems.
Ensure robust engineering standards, cybersecurity practices, and operational resilience.
Lead product development across media, broadcast, and healthcare technology solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure, platforms, and service delivery.
People & Culture
Build, mentor, and inspire high-performing technical teams.
Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Support capability development and succession planning across engineering and technology functions.
Partnerships & Innovation
Strengthen relationships with clients, suppliers and industry stakeholders.
Represent Broadtech and JDA in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and strategic partnerships.
Lead innovation initiatives that enhance customer experience and market competitiveness.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Proven executive leadership experience in telecommunications, broadcasting, digital infrastructure, or related sectors.
Strong background in engineering, systems architecture and technology strategy.
Demonstrated success leading complex technical teams and large-scale projects.
Experience with emerging technologies, digital transformation, and operational modernisation.
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and influence at all levels.
