Are you a visual storyteller with a heart for impact?
At The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ, like our Founder the legendary Kiwi eye surgeon Professor Fred Hollows, we believe every eye is an eye; whether it belongs to a world leader or someone living in a remote Pacific community. That is why we work tirelessly every day to restore the sight of our Pacific neighbors, train local eye specialists so they can restore sight in their own communities and support local partners to build more effective and independent eye healthcare systems.
We’re looking for a Content & Visual Brand Specialist who can turn moments into meaning; someone who can capture powerful stories through video and photography, and bring them to life in a way that moves people to care, act, and support our vision of a world where no one is needlessly blind or vision impaired.
If you’re creative, empathetic, values-led, and excited by purpose-driven storytelling, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role: What You’ll Be Doing
This is more than a content role — you’ll be a visual storyteller, brand guardian, and creative partner across The Foundation.
You’ll be responsible for:
End-to-end storytelling: producing compelling video, photography, and creative content from concept through to final delivery.
Content planning & collection: developing annual content plans and sourcing high-quality stories from across New Zealand and the Pacific.
Visual brand leadership: protecting and elevating our visual identity, ensuring everything we publish is consistent, high-quality, and on brand.
Collaboration across teams: working closely with Fundraising, Communications, Programmes, and Finance to meet diverse content needs.
Ethical, respectful storytelling: ensuring our content centres the dignity, consent, and voices of the communities we work alongside.
What We’re Looking For:
Every member of The Foundation brings something unique to the table. Here is what we are looking for with this role:
3–4 years of experience in content production, content collection, production and management.
Experience with Canva and video editing tools (Illustrator and InDesign are a bonus!).
Demonstrated experience leading and managing content projects across digital, social and traditional media channels.
Strong experience in video production, photography and content creation for digital platforms.
Cultural Heart: Sensitivity and a proactive approach to collaborating with diverse communities and regional teams across the Pacific.
Collaborative Spirit: The ability to manage agencies, brief contractors, and work seamlessly with everyone from local staff to our Executive team.
What’s in it for you?
We are committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace that respects all cultures and different ways of thinking. We foster a healthy, positive and encouraging work environment so that our team reaches their full potential and has fun along the way.
Flexible working hours and hybrid office/home working options.
Complimentary health insurance scheme with Southern Cross.
Three additional gifted annual leave days (Fred days) between Christmas & New Year.
Support for Continued Professional Development.
