Optic Security Group (OSG) have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Security Technician to provide and be responsible for performing skilled technical work. Based in Auckland, you will sit across installation, maintenance, repair, modification and testing of solutions for data, voice and security systems.
You will work with a small team of skilled Security Technicians across a broad spectrum of sites. The team works on installing, and servicing solutions for electronic security by integrating access control, intruder detection, and CCTV systems. You will use a variety of commercial security systems including Gallagher, Integriti, ICT, as well as a range of CCTV systems.
This role will also see you work with a variety of clients, from top tier security clearance businesses to your local down the way. No matter the client, keeping them involved and informed at all stages is key, as is ensuring not only industry specific standards are adhered to, but client standards and practices as well.
Key Responsibilities also include:
- Interpreting system drawings in relation to the installation of security and related systems.
- Conducting site examinations, as necessary, to ensure a thorough understanding of actual site conditions/construction, as it relates to the installation of security and related systems.
- Resolving technical faults and allocating resources to deliver solid solutions in a cost-effective way.

What you'll bringAs a Senior Security Technician, this won’t be your first rodeo! You’ll have the experience to back the skills needed, having worked as a Security Technician for a while now. Installing, repairing, wiring, and testing, you know what to do and how to do it.
- Previous experience as a Security Technician within an electronic security company for at least 5 years prior to this role.
- Valid and current driver’s license is essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Electronic Security.
- Knowledge and experience across a variety of security products including Integriti and Gallagher.
- Analytical capability and the ability to comprehend and solve technical problems and issues.
- Excellent communication, organisation, time management and customer service skills.
- Currently have, or the ability to gain a Security Licence.
