Location: Hamilton | Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5pm | Start: Ideally 7th April

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Cable Technician to join their busy team. This role is key to supporting clients with structured cabling solutions, including cabinet terminations, data and fibre cabling, and infrastructure installations.

What you'll do:

Install, maintain, and repair cabling systems and support structures (j-hooks, racks, innerduct).
Implement and troubleshoot structured cabling solutions, including Certified UTP and fibre optic cabling, IP, CCTV, BMS, and security systems.
Perform maintenance on existing networks, identifying and removing redundant cabling.
Test and validate newly installed or relocated cables per manufacturer specifications.
Ensure cables are neatly bundled and compliant with safety regulations.
Complete paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, checklists, inspection reports, service orders).

Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience with data and fibre cabling and general telecommunications infrastructure.
Knowledge of AS/NZS standards for commercial cabling preferred; security clearance an advantage.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; able to work independently under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to build professional relationships.
Local candidates preferred, with eligibility for required credentials.
Must hold a current full driver’s license and be able to pass pre-employment testing (security, drug, criminal history).
Physically fit for the demands of the role.
