E-Commerce & Digital Operations Assistant (Execution-Focused Role)
We’re looking for someone based in our New Zealand office, supporting our Australian operations, who takes pride in doing things properly and efficiently.
The role requires a level of independence, along with the ability to follow processes and ask questions when needed.
About Us
Pestrol is an established Australian business with over 20 years of experience in pest control and home & garden solutions. We operate a fast-paced e-commerce business where accuracy, speed, and initiative matter, supporting customers across both Australia and New Zealand.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
Uploading and managing products (pricing, descriptions, images, accuracy)
Updating website content and promotions
Creating simple but effective graphics for Facebook and Instagram
Managing and posting on social media
Monitoring basic performance (what’s working and what’s not)
Supporting digital campaigns and keeping everything up to date
What We’re Looking For
We are specifically looking for someone who:
Has strong common sense and attention to detail
Can work independently without being chased
Can follow instructions and execute quickly and accurately
Is comfortable using tools like Canva, social media platforms, and basic AI tools
Is willing to ask questions when unsure (instead of guessing)
Understands the importance of keeping things updated and organised
Application Task (Preferred but Not Mandatory)
To strengthen your application, you are encouraged to complete the following:
1. Product Upload Task
Run through the steps you would undertake to successfully add a product to a WooCommerce website.
(This is not mandatory, but will be highly regarded.)
2. Design & Platform Task
Create a simple graphic advertisement for a pest control product (your choice).
Then explain how you would adapt this ad across the following platforms:
Facebook / Instagram
X (Twitter)
Reddit
Include:
How the messaging and creative would differ for each platform
The type of content you would prioritise
How you would tailor it to each audience
3. Social Media Task
Briefly explain:
How you would manage social media on a weekly basis
What you would track to measure performance
Note:
Applications without these will still be considered, however those who complete the above will be prioritised.
