About Teltrac and the role

Teltrac is a leading nationwide Digital Infrastructure and Technology Solutions Provider that was established in 1991. The depth of capabilities and services offered by Teltrac is vast and bespoke for each client from audio visual and digital signage to security, access control and CCTV through to structured cabling and fibre systems and building automation.

Due to Teltrac’s growth in the region, we're looking for a Lead Technology Technician with a great attitude based in Christchurch to service the wider Canterbury Region. In this role you will have the unique opportunity to help grow a the local branch by working in a great team and foster a rapport with our clients.

Reporting to the Canterbury Regional Manager you'll be instrumental in leading the delivery of services for our clients with the good work we're known for. The successful applicant will be a good communicator and be able to form strong relationships with the operational team, staff, clients and stakeholders, be able to work autonomously and have a lead from the front attitude with the goal to assist in Teltrac's growth in the region.

You will be responsible for the implementation of our services and solutions

The role will be 40 hours per week with additional overtime available at 1.5 times standard pay.

Successful applicants will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Strong Team Leadership

  • Ability to think outside the square.

  • 3 Years + Experience in Structured Cabling Installation.

  • Experience in Security or Audio-Visual Installations preferred.

  • 3 Year + Leading Installation Teams and/or Leading Projects.

  • Will be competent in working on Clients Sites.

  • Will be competent in both copper and fibre installations.

  • Clean, current drivers licence

  • Current NZ resident or NZ work visa preferred.

Role Description

You will be responsible for the installation and servicing of our services and solutions as well as maintenance, troubleshooting and implementing technology systems, such as Structured Cabling & Fibre Systems, Security, Audio Visual, Building Controls and Networking Hardware.

Tasks Include:

  • Leading the installation and servicing of the some or all of the following

    • Structured Cabling

    • Fibre Systems

    • Security (CCTV, Access Control, Alarms, Intercoms)

    • Audio Visual

    • Building Controls

    • Networking Hardware (Switches, Servers, WAP's, UPS's)

  • examining drawings, specifications and work areas to determine positioning and connections for equipment to be installed

  • documentation of installed hardware to ensure accurate as built information is provided
