What you'll do:

You will immerse yourself in a variety of high-impact projects spanning terrestrial fibre-optic networks, submarine cable systems, and hyperscale data centre developments. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with senior leaders such as the Chief Business Officer and Project Director within the Connectivity Team. You will be instrumental in co-ordinating technical aspects of new builds or network deployments across South-East Asia, ensuring every stage from site identification through procurement to installation is meticulously managed. By actively engaging with internal teams as well as external subject matter experts, you will drive project success while maintaining rigorous standards for health, safety, environmental compliance, and stakeholder communication. Your role will also extend to managing tenders, integrating third-party solutions, facilitating operational handovers, monitoring budgets, and championing continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this position requires you to bring together technical acumen with collaborative spirit-ensuring every project not only meets but exceeds expectations through shared learning and supportive teamwork.

  • Co-ordinate the design and delivery of diverse connectivity projects, collaborating with internal teams and external subject matter experts to ensure seamless execution.
  • Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle including planning, procurement, permitting, installation, and reporting for both terrestrial and subsea cable deployments.
  • Support each phase of the project by identifying key sites, developing technical solutions, and ensuring all necessary components are in place for successful outcomes.
  • Manage procurement processes for materials and contractors, supervising project deliverables to guarantee quality standards are met.
  • Secure permits with local authorities by liaising closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to facilitate smooth project progression.
  • Write and manage tenders, RFQs, and RFPs while partnering with construction teams for infrastructure procurement and equipment acquisition.
  • Assist in the testing, acceptance, and integration of third-party 'off-net' solutions to supplement core connectivity projects.
  • Lead the transition from project development to operational handover by selecting suitable O&M service providers and ensuring effective engagement.
  • Monitor key project deliverables including budget management, providing regular updates to end customers and supporting client-facing meetings.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives by leading 'Learning from Experience' sessions and fostering change management competencies within the team.

What you bring:

To excel as a Connectivity Project Manager within this global digital infrastructure organisation, you will bring extensive experience from the telecommunications sector-particularly in deploying complex fibre-optic networks or submarine cable systems.

  • At least 10 years' experience within the telecommunications industry or ICT/connectivity ecosystem with proven expertise in deploying terrestrial fibre-optic networks or submarine cable systems.
  • Advanced computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and specialised project management tools relevant to large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong commitment to zero harm principles alongside robust health, safety, environmental (HSE) compliance practices throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability in project management covering full lifecycle planning-from initial concept through implementation-with clear goal setting and outcome monitoring.
  • Organised approach combined with results-oriented mindset that thrives on achieving objectives through collaborative teamwork rather than individual competition.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling direct interaction with end customers as well as effective support during client-facing meetings involving wider organisational teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail coupled with capacity to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality or stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work dependably both autonomously when required or remotely according to agreed objectives while maintaining strong connections within multi-disciplinary deployment teams.
  • Bilingual skills or appropriate tertiary qualifications are considered beneficial but not mandatory; willingness to engage in ongoing training opportunities is highly valued.
  • Track record of encouraging continuous improvement through sharing experiences within teams-fostering change management competencies among colleagues.
