We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join a growing New Zealand technology company operating in the fleet management and telematics sector. About the Role

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting customers and installation partners to ensure GPS tracking devices and fleet management solutions are installed, configured, and operating effectively.

This is a varied and hands-on position that combines technical support, remote troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and on-site field work. No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support

  • Provide first-line technical support via phone, email, and online channels.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and integration issues.
  • Manage support requests and maintain accurate records within the CRM system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues where required.

Installer Support & Coordination

  • Work closely with auto-electricians and installation partners across New Zealand and internationally.
  • Provide remote guidance and troubleshooting during device installations.
  • Support device testing, configuration, and commissioning activities.

Field-Based Support

  • Attend customer and installer sites as required.
  • Assist with installations, diagnostics, quality assurance checks, and technical investigations.
  • Support larger deployments and complex technical issues in the field.

Hardware & Device Configuration

  • Configure and provision GPS and IoT devices prior to deployment.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks before shipping and installation.
  • Assist with inventory and stock-related activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute ideas to improve products, processes, and customer experience.
  • Assist with technical documentation, training materials, and installer guides.
  • Work collaboratively with technical, sales, customer success, and product teams.
