The Campaign Company is a specialist digital campaigning agency working with political, advocacy and commercial clients across New Zealand and Australia.

We combine local political experience with international digital campaign best practice, helping clients sharpen their message, reach the right audiences, and run campaigns that shift opinion, mobilise supporters and influence decision-makers.

We’re looking for a Head of Political Digital Strategy & Campaign Delivery to lead digital campaign delivery for political and public-facing clients. This is a rare role in New Zealand: part strategist, part project manager, part digital marketer, and part political communications operator.

You’ll work across multiple clients and campaigns, meaning no two weeks will look the same. One week you may be helping a candidate refine their online message; the next, you may be managing a paid advertising campaign, coordinating creative production, reviewing analytics, or advising a client on how to respond to a fast-moving political issue.

This is a role for someone who some who understands the mechanics of, and the impact of politics and digital campaigning, and can bring order, judgement and momentum to complex projects.

About the role

You will manage political digital campaigns from start to finish, working directly with clients, account managers, designers, content specialists, developers and external contractors.

You’ll be responsible for turning campaign objectives into clear digital plans, ensuring creative and advertising are delivered on time, and helping clients communicate effectively online.

You’ll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced agency environment where priorities can shift quickly, deadlines matter, and strong judgment is essential. As this is an election year, you will need to hit the ground running, picking up key stakeholder relationships at a critical time.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our central Auckland office (with a great view!).

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of digital campaigns for political, advocacy and public-facing clients.

  • Manage client relationships and ensure campaigns are delivered in line with client objectives, timelines and expectations.

  • Work with account managers to turn client briefs into clear campaign plans and deliverables.

  • Oversee the workload and output of content specialists, designers, developers and contractors.

  • Manage social media campaigns, including content planning, scheduling and performance review.

  • Manage or oversee paid advertising campaigns across Meta, Google and other digital platforms.

  • Review campaign analytics and turn performance data into clear recommendations.

  • Coordinate creative production, including written content, graphics, video and campaign landing pages.

  • Provide strategic advice on online communications, messaging and digital campaign tactics.

  • Support political candidates, parties, advocacy groups and other clients operating in public-facing environments.

  • Build and maintain a strong network of creative, web and content contractors.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Confidence in dealing directly with clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong project management instincts and attention to detail.

  • Experience managing digital campaigns, ideally in politics, advocacy, public affairs, agency work or a similarly fast-moving environment.

  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning and campaign execution.

  • Experience with Meta and Google advertising platforms.

  • Good political judgement and an understanding of New Zealand, Australian and International politics.

  • The ability to manage multiple clients, projects and deadlines at once.

  • The ability to interpret digital analytics and explain performance clearly.

  • Experience in briefing and managing creative, technical or content professionals.

  • A practical, solutions-focused approach when deadlines are tight or circumstances change.

  • Experience in leading a team of creatives, account managers and developers.

Nice to have

The following would be useful, but are not essential:

  • Experience working on political campaigns, candidate campaigns, issue campaigns or advocacy campaigns.

  • Experience with NationBuilder, Webflow or similar campaign/CMS platforms.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator or InDesign.

  • UX design or landing page optimisation experience.

  • Copywriting experience.

Why join The Campaign Company?

This is not a generic digital marketing role. You’ll be working at the intersection of politics, creative strategy, advertising and public persuasion.

You’ll get exposure to campaigns that matter, work directly with people involved in public debate, and help bring a more professional standard of digital campaign management to politics in New Zealand and Australia.

You’ll join a motivated team that understands politics, moves quickly, and works across a wide range of campaigns and clients.

If you’re politically minded, digitally sharp, and ready to lead campaigns that make an impact, we’d like to hear from you.
