About the role
In this newly created role, we’re looking for a Communications & Engagement Advisor to help shape our next chapter.
You will play a leading role in delivering internal communications, employee engagement initiatives, leadership messaging, operational updates and storytelling that brings our people, culture and business priorities to life. Working closely with leaders across the business, you will ensure information is communicated in a way that is practical, timely and meaningful for both frontline and office-based employees.
This role would suit a confident communicator who enjoys writing, building relationships, simplifying information and finding creative ways to connect a diverse group of people across a fast-paced operational environment.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the delivery of internal communications across Kinetic New Zealand, ensuring employees are informed, connected and engaged.
Write and produce employee-focused content, including stories, articles, leadership messages and business updates that reflect our culture and priorities.
Support communications for organisational change initiatives, helping employees stay informed and engaged through periods of transition.
Manage and continuously improve communication channels, including SharePoint, Blink, and internal newsletters.
Develop and deliver communication plans for business initiatives, operational change and key moments across the calendar.
Design and deliver employee engagement campaigns, recognition initiatives and internal events that strengthen connection across our teams.
Partner with operational leaders to translate complex business information into clear, practical communications that resonate with frontline employees.
Manage internal communications initiatives from planning through to execution, taking ownership while escalating higher-risk or strategic matters as appropriate.
Identify and develop compelling employee, community and business stories that bring Kinetic to life.
Create engaging content across written, visual and video formats, coordinating external suppliers where required.
Support external communications, media monitoring, stakeholder engagement activity as required.
Monitor communication performance and use data and feedback to continuously improve engagement. and effectiveness
About you
You will be a clear, confident and people-centred communicator who can build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.
You will bring:
At least three years’ experience in a role with internal communications and employee engagement exposure, preferably working with dispersed teams in operational and customer-facing environments.
Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
Strong stakeholder relationship management skills.
The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
The ability to translate business information into clear, plain-English messaging.
Experience managing communication channels and digital content platforms.
A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
Confidence working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Sound judgement in a communications environment, including an awareness of reputational risk and when to escalate.
Curious and creative, with an interest in using digital tools, AI platforms and emerging technologies to improve communication and engagement.
