About the role

The Technical Operations Manager will oversee and manage the organisation's technical operations nationally, ensuring the seamless delivery of electronic security solutions to clients. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and operational management to drive efficiency, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

The position is primarily based in Auckland; however, ADT will also consider candidates based in Christchurch, with appropriate flexibility arrangements in place for the right candidate. The role maintains responsibility for supporting and leading technical operations across New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish effective relationships with suppliers at appropriate levels to ensure service delivery matches ADT expectations

  • Establish effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders and resources, role model ADT core competencies and standards of behaviour

  • Work closely with the customers to ensure a full understanding of their needs, manage expectations as required, and proactively resolve any issues of concern

  • Set the plan for the operations team, manage the day-to-day job planning and team management for the installation business

  • Work in partnership with the Customer Success Manager and team to ensure accurate resource planning for service delivery across the country

  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, project status reporting, and implementing change control processes

  • Manage day-to-day technical operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget

  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of security technician professionals, this includes the sub-contractor partners nationwide

  • Develop training programs, reinforcing tech and operations infrastructure between departments to ensure consistency and quality standards are met

  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy and procedures including reporting of work-related accidents, illnesses, injuries and hazards, ensuring work is undertaken in a safe manner

About you

  • Addressing operational concerns and issues, monitoring overall customer satisfaction

  • Developing and implementing operational procedures and policies

  • Analysing training needs/requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organising skills to coordinate project activities

  • Ability to communicate with others effectively

  • Ability to conduct research for special projects, respond timely to enquiries, and present written/oral briefings

  • Ability to work with details and time-sensitive issues

  • Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations

  • Bachelor's degree in program management, business or public administration, technical management, information systems, engineering, finance/accounting, or related fields

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent overall project management experience
