The Real Estate Business Development Leader will be responsible for identifying and
creating legal and business consulting opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and driving the growth of real estate practice. The role requires strong leadership, expertise in legal and financial aspects of real estate transactions, market insight, negotiation skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders both internally and externally. Additionally, the leader will focus on financing, equity raise and capital marketing to support business expansion and investment opportunities as well as legal support for real estate businesses. The leader will collaborate closely with marketing and executive teams to ensure the successful execution of the business development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead Generation & Relationship Building:
o Develop and implement business development strategies to identify new real estate consulting opportunities (business and legal consulting) in residential, commercial, resort/hospitality and industrial sectors.
o Work with executive team to develop messaging, marketing collateral, and campaigns to promote the company’s services and offerings.
o Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitor analysis, and growth opportunities.
o Create a pipeline of potential real estate consulting opportunities including transactional, monetization, financing & equity placement, restructuring, and interim leadership.
o Generate and nurture new business relationships with potential clients,
lenders, investors, brokers, developers, asset managers, and advisors
• Sales and Revenue Generation:
o Collaborate with the executive team to ensure the conversion of opportunities into long-term contracts and consulting agreements.
o Set and achieve revenue targets and KPIs.
o Identify potential partnerships with real estate owners, asset & portfolio managers, investors and financial institutions.
o Build relationships with government agencies and other key industry players to facilitate consulting opportunities in project design and entitlement
approvals.
• Market Analysis & Reporting:
o Stay up to date with industry trends and market dynamics.
o Analyze real estate market opportunities and provide actionable insights to the executive team.
o Prepare and deliver business development reports, presentations, and progress updates to senior leadership.
o Collaborate with the executive team to ensure seamless execution of
business strategies.
• Brand Positioning & Marketing:
o Enhance brand visibility and reputation through public speaking, industry events, and networking.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or a related field. MBA preferred.
• Experience:
o 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate business development or brokerage, with a proven track record of success.
o Previous leadership experience in managing teams and driving business growth.
o Previous experience in working with lawyers in the real estate industry.
• Skills:
o Strong understanding of real estate consulting, finance, investment, restructuring, market dynamics, and legal.
o Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
o Proficient in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business development tools.
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
o Strategic thinker with a strong customer focus.
