About the Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Managing Director to lead and expand a growing Business Valuation practice within a national advisory firm. This role is designed for a highly strategic and relational leader who thrives in client-facing environments and is passionate about helping companies unlock, maximize, and monetize enterprise value.
This isn’t just a technical or delivery role — you’ll be at the forefront of client relationships, leading engagements, developing business, and driving solutions that deliver real impact across industries.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead end-to-end engagements in enterprise valuation, intellectual property valuation, capital equipment assessment, transaction opinions, and dispute support
- Serve as the primary client contact — building trust, driving strategy, and facilitating executive-level conversations
- Deliver best-in-class valuation solutions for lending, financial reporting, tax, compliance, fairness opinions, and strategic decision-making
- Partner across internal teams to align valuation services with broader consulting or capital strategy efforts
- Contribute to firm growth by leveraging existing relationships and developing new client opportunities
- Mentor and lead junior professionals within the practice
- Represent the firm as a subject matter expert in valuation strategy, regulatory compliance, and deal execution
Who You Are
- 12+ years of relevant experience in business valuation, financial advisory, corporate finance, or related consulting roles
- Deep understanding of valuation methodologies and regulatory requirements (e.g., ASC 820, ASC 805, IRC 409A)
- Demonstrated success in client relationship management and consultative business development
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence C-suite executives
- Holds or is working toward relevant credentials such as ASA, CFA, CPA/ABV, or similar
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation, leadership, and results
- Willingness to travel as needed
